PRIVATE JOB RECRUITMENT AT NIGERIAN PRISON SERVICE AND CBN

Image
So this one really ticked me off because I need a job too, it's not fair that people with daddy should get all the meat before people with papa. Well read this news then you will understand. Sources speaking to SaharaReporters in an ongoing investigation disclosed that the Nigerian Prisons Service, under the leadership of the Controller-General Ahmed Ja’afaru and Minister of the Interior Abdulrahman Dambazau, has hired around 538 recruits without following established laws for public recruitment exercises. This latest finding follows similar illegal employment schemes by the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Executive Chairman Tunde Fowler. It will be recalled that Mr. Emefiele oversaw a monumental recruitment fraud where he illegally hired the children and relatives of powerfully connected Nigerians throughout the Federal Government. Mr. Fowler, similarly, illegally recruited the friends and relatives of promin

11 YEARS OLD CONDOM EXPERT

Image
This one is a bit hard to swallow,  So uganda activist Stella Nyazy gave her 11 years old daughter "the condom talk?". At first I wanted to pour spit on the floor, move my shoulder up and down and say abomination!. For those of you who don't understand, that's the Nigerian way of expressing disgust. So considering the clamour for sex education and the fact that am educated and supposedly more exposed and "civilized"  I decided to chill out a little.  so after a long and hard battle between the Nigerian me who wants to do the Nigerian thing and the educated me who thinks it's perfectly, civilization won but am still a little skeptical about the time frame.  Am really concerned because I'd love to have kids someday and I really need to know when it's okay to tell my daughter the main function of a penis and why you have to put a rubber on it.  Am wondering how she'll react to this because I know exactly how am going to reac

THE BIAFRAN SCAM

Image
That's how somebody will just enter trouble, so this whole Biafra thingy with the Igbos is currently beginning to gain grounds so I decided to do my little research.  After speaking with a certain Anambrarian, I became more confused and scared because I actually thought this was an Igbo movement or is he a traitor, or just an angry man? Here's what he said  "I think it's a whole bunch of nonsense rolled in to a green, red and black package. Wow hold on, that probably didn't come out right. Of course it came out just perfect. It just beats me that even educated people who are supposed to be wiser cannot see beneath the ugly package, who even picked those colours anyway, it screams gloom and death. So here's the deal, the biafra scam is just a group of old desperate and greedy people, twisting the minds of all the naive people around them, with the promise of a better country. Greed is a weed plant that thrives everywhere, it doesn't need much nurturing t

THE ORIGIN OF BIRTHDAY CAKES AND WISHES

Image
I always have a knack for trying to understand how stuff came about so I decided to make a little bit of research on birthday cakes, and here's what I found and am wondering if we've been wrong all this while. In Ancient Greece, Artemis was the goddess of the hunt, as well as the moon (Her twin brother, Apollo, was god of the sun). It is said that cakes brought to the temple of Artemis were adorned with candles to make them glow like the moon.
Many ancient cultures and many religions also believed that smoke was a vehicle to carry prayers up to the gods, and it is possible that this idea is the basis for our modern “make a wish” tradition. As with the marketing of birthday cakes, the addition of candles is also attributed to the Germans around the 1700’s when Kinderfesten, birthday celebrations for children, became more common. The custom was to place a candle for each year of their life as well as extra candles to represent years to come. While birthday celebrations vary al
